Organizing the Shasta- Update

This is just a little follow-up to the original organizing post. I learned that there are some really cool organizational products out there, but not all of them worked for me.

Back “Closet”: I kept The Container Store drawers for the small hole/closet area and I think they will be excellent. There is still some space on the side and at the top which should provide room for the few hanging clothes we may have. I got a small tension rod to hang clothes on and I think it will provide just enough space. Who really needs a lot of dressy clothes on a camping trip? Not me.

Bathroom: I got a shower curtain rod and a shower curtain to keep as much of the water in the bathroom as possible. I can’t imagine us showering in there everyday, but you just never know. I got this neat little thing to hang on the window curtain rod, but after getting it home I still didn’t know what I’d put in it so I’ll be returning it. I don’t have anything to hold the TP in the bathroom, but I’m not worried about it. This over the door rack did not work because the door wasn’t tall enough to stretch the bungee cords and keep it on. I will use this instead:

Towel Rack

I picked up this rug at World Market to put outside the bathroom door. If we do shower in there I wanted something to soak up the water from our feet.

Bathroom Rug

I think that’s everything in the organization department.

Product Reviews- Things I’ve bought lately that I really like…

Loft by Umbra Bunky Bedside Stand

Bunky Bedside Stand

We have been looking for an iPad stand for watching movies/tv shows in bed (small room=no space for TV) and it’s been a difficult thing to find. They are either way too flimsy or really bulky. The reviews are always a little too mixed for me, and they are expensive. Bad reviews/big bucks isn’t the combination I’m looking for, but while browsing Target.com I found this little gem. We used it last night and it fits the bill. The quality is great, it’s sturdy, and holds the iPad at a good viewing angle.

Also, here’s a cool write up about the student that designed it (and other products/designers from the same program now available at Target).

Rifle Paper Co 2016 Planner

Rifle Paper Co Planner

I’ve been a fan of Rifle Paper Co for awhile, and I use a physical planner, so this is a jackpot for me! I pre-ordered one about a month ago and it arrived today. I’m very impressed. The weekly breakdown provides ample space for daily tasks and notes, and the dividers make it easy to get to the month you’re looking for. I typically like there to be a notes section within the week, but I think there will be enough space for notes with the layout they chose. I do wish the paper was a little thicker though. But that’s probably just me being picky. Overall I’m pleased, and will be excited to use it come January 1st. Now through Monday August 10th use “Plan2016” for 10% off a planner.

Converse Shoreline Sneakers

Nordstrom Shoreline-cropped

These fit the “casual shoe option that I can also wear with dresses” hole in my wardrobe. I’d originally looked at the Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars, but they didn’t look quite like I was hoping on my big foot. Enter the Converse Shoreline. They have a lower profile and a scrunchy back. My old Tory Burch shoes with the scrunchy back were a bear to break in so I was prepared for the same scenario with these. To my surprise, they felt great the first time I wore them! No blisters, no problems. They look good, feel good, and are versatile. What more could you ask for?

Converse Shoreline

I bought mine from Nordstrom.com and as usual they came super-fast and the shipping was free. I went with my normal size nine and they fit as I expected.
